Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the reservation of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) on Tuesday, stating that various options, including legal avenues, are being explored to uphold this priority.

In a statement, Bhujbal criticized Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange, urging him to retract his demand for reservation under the OBC category. Bhujbal emphasized that such demands aimed to appropriate OBC reservation benefits and called for their cessation.

“He (Jarange) and his colleagues are trying to steal our reservation benefits. He should first stop it at once. If he withdraws his demand to get the reservation under the OBC grouping, it will be a big favor to us,” asserted Bhujbal, underscoring the importance of maintaining the integrity of the OBC quota.

Bhujbal further highlighted that efforts are underway at both legal and administrative levels to safeguard OBC reservation, indicating a comprehensive approach to address the issue.

“I am receiving support from across political parties for this cause of protecting the OBC quota. I respect the democratic processes where people have the right to express their views,” Bhujbal stated, underscoring the collaborative effort required to uphold the rights and interests of OBC communities.
