Patna, 11th Nov: As the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 enters its final leg, exit polls have delivered a major blow to Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party. Once envisioned as a political alternative for the state, the party appears to be headed for a disappointing debut, with multiple exit polls predicting it may not open its account.
Kishor, who famously described his party’s prospects as “arsh pe ya farsh pe” (either sky-high or on the floor), seems to be facing the latter outcome. According to all seven exit polls — Dainik Bhaskar, Matrize, People’s Insight, Peoples Pulse, JVC, P-Marq, and Chanakya Strategies — the Jan Suraaj Party is likely to secure between zero and five seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
The Peoples Pulse survey gave the party the most optimistic projection, estimating 0–5 seats, while Dainik Bhaskar forecast 0–3 and People’s Insight as well as Matrize projected 0–2. JVC predicted 0–1, and Chanakya Strategies gave the harshest estimate — zero seats. Only P-Marq suggested a slightly better range of 1–4 seats.
The exit polls collectively indicate a clear edge for the NDA, with the Mahagathbandhan (RJD-Congress alliance) likely to lose ground. Despite contesting in nearly all constituencies — the most by any single party — Jan Suraaj appears to have failed to gain traction among Bihar’s voters.
While exit polls often miss the mark, the numbers highlight the steep challenge facing Kishor, who left political consultancy to form a movement based on governance reforms and grassroots mobilisation. Whether his experiment translates into any electoral gain will be known only when the Election Commission declares the final results.
