Shivpuri, 13th Sept: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region and Guna MP Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Friday planted a sapling at Lal College campus in Shivpuri under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (One Tree in Mother’s Name) campaign, dedicating it to the memory of his late mother.

Addressing students and residents, Scindia highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, calling trees “the very basis of life” and urging everyone to fulfil their responsibility toward nature. “Every tree planted in a mother’s name is a symbol of reverence and gratitude. It will not only give us pure air but also ensure a clean and safe environment for future generations,” he said.

The minister appealed to students to take the initiative forward by planting at least one tree in every family.

Witnesses, including college students, teachers, local representatives and citizens, pledged to nurture the newly planted saplings and care for them until they grow into large trees.

The plantation drive, reflecting the Scindia family’s commitment to environmental and social causes, sent an inspiring message across Shivpuri.
