Every State Should Pass a Uniform Civil Code: Dhami

Udham Singh Nagar, 2nd July. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Friday that all states, like Uttarakhand, should enact a Uniform Civil Code.

Dhami stated at an event in the Udham Singh Nagar district that a committee has been formed under the chairmanship of retired justice Ranjan Prakash Desai to implement a Uniform Civil Code in Uttarakhand after consulting with all stakeholders and the general public.

He stated that the state would soon implement a Uniform Civil Code. “We expected all states to implement such a law in their respective jurisdictions,” Dhami added.

He also stated that he has the support of the state’s people to implement the Uniform Civil Code.
