Every Penny will have to Be Returned, This is Modi’s Guarantee: PM Slams Congress After Rs 200 Crore Cash Found in Tax Raid

PM Modi emphasized that citizens should witness the stacks of currency notes and then evaluate the statements made by opposition leaders.

“The countrymen should look at the pile of these notes and then listen to the honest ‘speeches’ of their leaders…Whatever has been looted from the public, every penny will have to be returned, this is Modi’s guarantee,” said PM Modi posted on X.

The Income Tax Department conducted raids at Boudh Distilleries Private Limited in Odisha and Jharkhand on Thursday. They discovered a large amount of cash in the company’s office, which required the department to order more counting machines.

Baldev Sahu Infra Pvt Ltd, a group company of Boudh Distilleries, was also searched and is connected to Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Dheeraj Sahu.

The raids took place in Bolangir and Sambalpur in Odisha, as well as Ranchi and Lohardaga in Jharkhand.

The tax department also conducted raids at Baldev Sahu and Group of Companies Satpura office.

During the raids, the tax department found currency notes of Rs 500, Rs 200, and Rs 100 stuffed in nine almirahs.

After counting, they filled 157 bags with the notes. When they couldn’t find more bags, they stuffed the cash in sacks and took them to banks.

The amount recovered may increase as the counting is not yet complete.

The banks in the raided locations do not have the capacity to hold such a large amount of money in one place, so arrangements are being made to store the money in bigger banks.
