English teacher from Government inter-college creates a Library in Bergani village in district Tehri through his own resources

New Tehri/Dehradun, 15th June. “Libraries will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no libraries.”
These words said by Anne Herbert, the American author describing the importance of the library for school-going children.  Laxman Singh Rawat English teacher from Government inter-college Jajal in district Tehri has proven this quote to be true through his unique initiative to attract children addicted to mobile and computer games towards book by creating a library with the initial book bank of 500 books at Bergani village.
Laxman Singh Rawat has ignited the lamp of learning by setting up a village library through his own resources so that the younger generation instead of spending their time on mobile games take into the precious knowledge provided by the books in the library.
The idea came when Laxman Singh Rawat saw the children who are presently wasting their time on mobile and computers playing games towards the treasure trove of Knowledge in form of the books.
Apart from the books on various subject, the library has study material for competitive examinations, which will help the children of the village to give wings to their dreams.
Retired principal Lohitaksh Dev Thapliyal and former principal Bhagwan Singh Rawat jointly inaugurated the library on Monday. The teacher’s effort has been appreciated by the people of the entire village.


Apart from the books on various subject, the library has study material for competitive examinations, which will help the children of the village to give wings to their dreams.
Teacher Laxman Singh Rawat says that books are true friends of human beings, but today’s younger generation is drifting away from the precious knowledge of books. He said that internet media cannot replace books. Books are really our true guides and friends.
The library contains enlightening books, stories, newspapers, magazines. So those children develop intellectually as well as increase their inclination towards books. At the same time, the children of the village will be able to prepare for competitive examinations. This facility will be provided free of cost to the children. A good bank of more than 500 books has been created in the library after all books are the best friend of students said Laxman Singh Rawat.
