Ashoknagar, 11th Sept: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has called for an end to the long-standing practice of “Pati” politics, urging women to assert their independent leadership in local governance.
Addressing a public programme in Ashoknagar, Scindia said the time has come to move beyond traditions such as “Pradhanpati, Sarpanchpati, Zila Panchayat Pati and Adhyakshpati,” where husbands often wield the real power behind elected women representatives. “Women must now take their rightful place in leadership with their own hands,” he declared.
His remarks quickly gained traction on social media, with many users hailing them as a strong push for women’s political empowerment and genuine representation in local bodies.
