Encounter Erupts in Srinagar’s Khanyar Between Security Forces and Terrorists

Srinagar, 2nd Nov. An encounter erupted between security forces and terrorists in the Khanyar locality of Srinagar on Saturday morning, according to officials. Acting on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area, security forces initiated a cordon and search operation.

The operation escalated into an exchange of gunfire when the terrorists fired upon the search team, prompting retaliation from security personnel. Authorities confirmed that the exchange of fire continues, although no casualties have been reported on either side so far.

Local residents have been advised to stay indoors as the operation progresses.
