Eighth Installment of Kisan Samman Nidhi Released, about 10 crore farmers benefitted

New Delhi, 14th May. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the eighth installment of financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana today, which is on Friday. Prime Minister Modi sent more than 19 thousand crore rupees to the accounts of nine and a half crore farmers through video conferencing. During the program, Prime Minister Modi also spoke to the farmers associated with the program. Prime Minister Modi said that small farmers are getting benefits from this scheme.

Prime Minister Modi said that today is the holy festival of Akshaya Tritiya, it is the time for the beginning of a new cycle of agriculture and today about 19 thousand crores of rupees have been directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers. About 10 crore farmers will benefit from this. The farmers of Bengal have started getting the benefit of this scheme for the first time.

PM Modi said that amidst the difficult challenges of Corona, where farmers have made records in production in agriculture and horticulture, the government is also setting new procurement records on MSP every year. First, there is a record purchase of paddy and now also of wheat.

While speaking about the Corona Crisis the country is facing, He said that we are fighting with it and we as a country of fighters will win this fight. PM Modi said that a mask and two yards are very necessary to beat corona.

PM Modi said that this year about 10 percent more wheat has been purchased at MSP as compared to last year so far and about 58 thousand crore rupees for the purchase of wheat has reached the account of the farmers directly. The government is constantly trying to provide new solutions, and new options in farming. Such efforts are being done to promote organic farming. The cost of such crops is also low, they are beneficial for the health of the soil and humans and they also get a higher price.
