Congratulating the 2,129 students who received degrees — including 45 gold medallists and 38 PhD scholars — the Home Minister said the youth of today are graduating in India’s Amrit Kaal, a defining phase when the country is preparing itself to emerge as a global leader.

Shri Shah highlighted the massive transformation in higher education over the last 11 years, citing the sharp rise in the number of universities, colleges, medical institutions and professional seats. He underlined that India today ranks third globally in the number of startups and unicorns, driven by the entrepreneurial spirit of its youth.

Calling upon students to look beyond personal success, he said they must ask not only “What will I become?” but also “What will I give to society and the country?” He encouraged graduates to dream big, use technology for social good, continue lifelong learning and work with the resolve to make India the world’s leading nation by 2047.

Shri Shah also recalled the contribution of Charotar region to the nation, referring to stalwarts like Sardar Patel and Tribhuvandas Patel, and noted the role of Anand as the birthplace of the cooperative movement through Amul, now the world’s largest dairy cooperative.

The Home Minister concluded by expressing confidence that CHARUSAT graduates would emerge as responsible leaders, innovators and nation-builders, strengthening India’s journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by the centenary of Independence.
