New Delhi, 4th May.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) continues to uphold its reputation as a global leader in electoral integrity and transparency by welcoming 75 international visitors from Election Management Bodies (EMBs) of 23 countries to witness the unfolding of the world’s largest democratic exercise—the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

Representatives from countries including Bhutan, Mongolia, Australia, Madagascar, and Fiji, among others, along with members from the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and media teams from Bhutan and Israel, will participate in the Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP) organized by the ECI.

Commencing on May 4th, the program aims to acquaint foreign delegates with India’s electoral processes and showcase the best practices employed by the largest democracy globally. Chief Election Commissioner Shri Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, and Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu will address the delegates on May 5th, providing valuable insights into India’s electoral framework.

Subsequently, the delegates will embark on visits to six states—Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh—in small groups to observe poll preparations and election procedures across various constituencies. The program will culminate on May 9th, 2024, marking an enriching and informative experience for the international delegation.
