ECI Flags Off International Visitors’ Programme 2025

Delegates from seven nations to witness Phase-I polling of Bihar Assembly elections

New Delhi, 4th Nov: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday inaugurated the International Election Visitors’ Programme (IEVP) 2025 at the India International Institute for Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) in New Delhi.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioner Dr. Vivek Joshi interacted with 14 delegates representing France, South Africa, Belgium, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Colombia during the inaugural session.

The participants attended detailed presentations on India’s electoral framework, including preparation of electoral rolls, poll conduct, and EVM demonstrations by senior ECI officials.

As part of the programme, the delegates will visit Bihar from November 5–6, where they will observe EVM dispatch centres and witness Phase-I polling of the Bihar Assembly Elections on November 6.

Since its inception in 2014, the IEVP has served as the ECI’s flagship platform for international cooperation, showcasing India’s electoral best practices and reinforcing its global leadership in democratic governance.
