EAM Jaishankar Discusses Red Sea Security Situation with US Secretary of State Blinken

Thursday, 12th Jan. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday had a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to address the challenging security situation in the Red Sea. They also exchanged views on the Israel-Hamas conflict and the situation in Ukraine.

Jaishankar expressed his appreciation for Blinken’s insights on the ongoing situation in West Asia, including Gaza. They also discussed the developments related to the Ukraine conflict and expressed their commitment to realizing their extensive cooperation agenda for 2024.

In addition, Jaishankar had a phone conversation with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong. They discussed the state of the world and their cooperation for this year, including through the Quad.
