DM Chamoli Directs Officials to Distribute Ivermectin Tablets to Each Family

Chamoli, 20th May. The administration has prepared a detailed plan to control the spread of Coronavirus for providing Ivermectin tablets to each family in the Chamoli district.
District Magistrate Chamoli Swati Bhadauria, during a meeting held on Wednesday evening, directed the officials to distribute the Ivermectin tablets to each family using services of Booth level officers in the district.

She said that the medicine should be distributed wherever the sample tests are being collected by the health teams.
The District Magistrate said that after the recommendation of the State Level Clinical Technical Committee, Ivermectin medicine is to being given for three days to citizens above 10 years of age in every family for controlling the impact of Covid infection before it takes a serious turn. 3 tablets are being given to children in the age group of 10 to 15 years and 6 tablets for the age group of 15 years.

She said Self Help Groups should be engaged at block level to prepare the kits and distribution of medicines to all people should be ensured at the earliest through booth level officers besides the Health Department. Those who have taken Ivermectin medicine in the last month should not take this medicine without medical advice.
Reviewing the medicines and health equipment available for the prevention of covid infection, the D Chamoli informed that 70 oxygen cylinders and 68 consultants have been received from various institutions in the district in the last week. She directed the health department officials to keep some of these oxygen cylinders and concentrators in the district hospital and distribute the rest to all other Covid care and community health centres. She informed that procurement has also been made at all ASHA, ANM and Gram Panchayat levels to provide pulse oximeter, thermometer and other essential materials. She directed the health officers to provide additional pulse Oximeters, thermometers, PPE kits, face shield, masks, sanitisers etc. She said that the BLO, Anganwadi workers and other personnel engaged in covid duty should also be provided with covid safety kits and ensure proper disposal of biowaste medical material. Chief Development Officer Hansadutt Pandey, CMO Dr. M.S. Khati, ACMO Dr. Uma Rawat, DPRO RS Gunjayal, DDMO NK Joshi were present on the occasion.
