New Delhi, 9th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with students from Coimbatore, Raipur, Devmogra and Guwahati during the second episode of Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026, urging them to focus on discipline, self-belief and balanced use of technology.

Addressing students across different regions, the Prime Minister said discipline is the foundation of success, while inspiration only adds value. He advised students not to become slaves to technology, but to use it as a tool for learning and growth.

During the interaction, he encouraged students to reach out to industry professionals, explore startups, and develop practical skills alongside academics. He stressed that studies and art should not be seen as separate, noting that creative activities help relieve stress and fatigue.

Linking personal habits to national development, Modi urged citizens to adopt basic civic discipline, such as not littering, obeying traffic signals, and avoiding food wastage. “Every small step will build Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he said.

Responding to questions on balancing studies and sports, the Prime Minister said education and physical activity must go hand in hand. He emphasised that sports should be an integral part of life, while academic learning remains essential for overall development.

On exam preparation, he advised students to practice writing instead of only reading, maintain regular sleep patterns, and avoid comparisons with others. He urged parents not to create a competitive environment at home, and instead encourage learning from one another.

Addressing concerns about artificial intelligence, Modi said technology should be embraced as a “great teacher” but warned against overdependence. He said the nature of jobs will continue to evolve, and students should focus on strengthening their own capabilities.

He also spoke about leadership, stating that future leaders must be fearless, take initiative, and communicate ideas clearly. Leadership, he said, begins with small actions, such as taking responsibility in everyday situations.

Encouraging students to travel and explore India, the Prime Minister said journeys should be undertaken not just to see places, but to understand them like a student. He highlighted that every subject studied remains useful in life and never truly goes to waste.

The interaction, part of the ninth edition of the annual outreach programme, covered themes ranging from exam stress and career choices to environmental awareness, sports, leadership, and the role of tribal communities in India’s development. The Prime Minister concluded by urging students to believe in themselves and keep striving for excellence.
