Dehradun, 29th Sept: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday met youths protesting at Parade Ground over an alleged paper leak in a recent graduate-level examination and assured them that the state will recommend a CBI investigation.
Dhami said a Special Investigation Team (SIT), supervised by a retired High Court judge, is already probing the charges linked to the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission exam. “There will be no obstruction in this matter. The government doesn’t want to leave any doubts or suspicions in the minds of the youth,” he stated.
The Chief Minister highlighted steps taken over the past four years to ensure transparent recruitment, including India’s toughest anti-cheating law and the arrest of around 100 members of a cheating racket. Over 25,000 government recruitments have been conducted transparently, he noted, adding that the paper leak complaint concerns only one case.
Expressing concern for the protesting students braving the heat during the festive season, Dhami said he chose to meet them at the site rather than summon them to his office. He also assured that any police cases filed against the protesters would be withdrawn.
Dhami reiterated that while the SIT probe continues, the state is committed to a transparent examination process and to eliminating doubts from the minds of the youth.
