New Delhi, 12th Nov: The Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, on Wednesday launched the Start-up Common Application Journey on the Jan Samarth Portal, offering startups a single digital platform to access credit across all Public Sector Banks (PSBs).

The initiative was launched by Shri M. Nagaraju, Secretary, DFS, during the Public Sector Banks Review Meeting in New Delhi. The event was attended by senior officials of the DFS, Chairman of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), Managing Directors and CEOs of PSBs, and representatives from PSB Alliance and IBA.

Developed jointly by the IBA and PSB Alliance, the digital platform aims to simplify and speed up the credit process for startups. Entrepreneurs can now apply for loans, compare offers, and track their applications seamlessly through a unified digital interface.

Under the Model Loan Scheme, startups can avail loans up to ₹20 crore under the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Startups (CGSS) by the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company (NCGTC), operating under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

The platform integrates critical data sources such as PAN, GST, Udyam, Income Tax Returns (ITRs), and Credit Bureau information, ensuring faster verification, reduced paperwork, and enhanced transparency. Additionally, special interest rate concessions for women entrepreneurs aim to further promote gender-inclusive financial growth.

According to the DFS, the new system represents a major stride in creating a collaborative, technology-driven financial ecosystem for India’s startup sector. It aligns with the government’s larger vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship as drivers of economic growth.
