‘Development Means Upliftment of the Poorest’: PM Modi Unveils Rs 56,000 Cr Projects in Telangana

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated and dedicated to the nation a slew of developmental projects related to power, rail, and road sectors in Adilabad, Telangana, collectively valued at more than Rs 56,000 crores.

Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Modi highlighted Adilabad’s transformation into a hub of developmental initiatives, not only for Telangana but for the entire nation.

He emphasized that over 30 development projects, covering energy, environmental sustainability, and road connectivity, are either being dedicated to the nation or having their foundation stones laid today.

The Prime Minister underscored the collaborative efforts between the Central Government and the state of Telangana, spanning nearly a decade, to fulfill the aspirations of its citizens. He noted the inauguration of the 800 MW capacity NTPC Unit 2, which will enhance Telangana’s electricity generation capacity, and the electrification of Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti rail lines.

Additionally, he laid the foundation stones for two major National Highway projects in Adilabad, Bela, and Mulugu. These modern infrastructure projects, he asserted, will accelerate Telangana’s development, reduce travel time, boost tourism, and create numerous employment opportunities.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated the importance of state-led development in driving national progress.

He highlighted India’s robust economic growth, with a growth rate of 8.4 percent in the last quarter, positioning India to become the world’s third-largest economy. This economic momentum, he emphasized, will benefit Telangana’s economy significantly.

Reflecting on past neglect, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the transformative governance reforms of the last decade.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to inclusive development, ensuring the upliftment of the poorest sections of society. He credited government welfare schemes for lifting over 25 crore people out of poverty.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Modi affirmed the continuation and amplification of such developmental campaigns in the next five years.

The event was graced by the presence of Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister Revantha Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, and other dignitaries.
