New Delhi, 9th March
. Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor, Vinai Kumar Saxena on Saturday took to social media to highlight the ongoing civic challenges faced by residents across various areas of the national capital.

Sharing images depicting potholes, clogged drains, and heaps of garbage in neighborhoods like JJ Cluster, Sanjay Colony, and Okhla, Mr. Saxena tagged Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in his post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Expressing dismay over the apparent inaction and insensitivity towards addressing these issues,  Saxena urged authorities to take immediate action to resolve the pressing concerns.

This comes in the wake of similar grievances shared earlier this week from Qalandar colony in Shahadra and Sangam Vihar.

Highlighting the jurisdiction of concerned departments and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Saxena pointed out that these areas fall under the purview of the Delhi government.Responding to the criticism, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal countered by stating that the Lieutenant Governor’s actions mirror those typically associated with the opposition, implying that such criticisms should have originated from the BJP, the principal opposition party in Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) condemned  Saxena’s actions, accusing him of engaging in “dirty politics” and called for a cessation of such tactics.

The political spat highlights the ongoing tensions between the Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor’s office, with civic issues becoming a battleground for political point-scoring.
