New Delhi- The Delhi Legislative Assembly has officially joined the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) platform, becoming the 28th legislature in India to adopt the digital initiative aimed at streamlining legislative processes. A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA), the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD), and the Delhi Legislative Assembly to implement the project.
The signing ceremony was attended by Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta, and MoPA Secretary Umang Narula. Officials from MoPA and the Delhi Assembly formalized the agreement, marking a step towards paperless governance in line with the Prime Minister’s “One Nation, One Application” vision.
NeVA is designed to digitize legislative procedures, providing real-time access to documents such as agendas, bills, and reports while enhancing transparency, efficiency, and sustainability. The platform, hosted on Meghraj 2.0 — India’s cloud infrastructure — ensures robust security, scalability, and device-agnostic accessibility, enabling legislators to conduct business from smartphones, tablets, laptops, or desktops.
Minister Kiren Rijiju highlighted NeVA’s transformative role in streamlining legislative functions and boosting transparency. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta emphasized that the platform would empower lawmakers, improve legislative performance, and benefit Delhi’s citizens.
The integration aligns with the Delhi Government’s 100-day agenda and represents a major milestone in modernizing legislative processes, making the Delhi Assembly a model for digital governance in India.
