“Deeply Saddening”: PM Modi on Vadodara Bridge Collapse
Announces ₹2 lakh for kin of deceased and ₹50,000 for injured.

New Delhi/Vadodara, 9th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the tragic bridge collapse in Vadodara district, Gujarat. In a message shared on social media platform X, the Prime Minister extended condolences to the families of those who died and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
“The loss of lives due to the collapse of a bridge in Vadodara district, Gujarat, is deeply saddening. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon,” PM Modi posted.
The Prime Minister also announced ex-gratia assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). An amount of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased person, while ₹50,000 will be given to each of the injured.
Rescue operations are underway, and the local administration has been directed to ensure all necessary assistance to the affected families.
