DARPG organized the 5th National E-Governance Webinar on the theme “Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering for Digital Transformation at State/UT Level”

New Delhi, 1 8th Feb. The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) holds webinars for public administrators to talk about their projects that have won the National Award for Excellence in e-Government.

The Department held the 4th and 5th NeGW events on January 5th, 2024 and February 16th, 2024. These events were successful and helped people from all over the country share their knowledge.

The 4th National Webinar on e-Governance was led by Shri Punit Yadav, who is also the Joint Secretary of DARPG. The topic was “Excellence in District Level Initiatives in e-Governance for Other States”. This session highlighted exemplary initiatives:

The Gang Canal Computerization Project, which Smt showed. Rukmani Riar Sihag, who is in charge of Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, wants to help farmers in Ganganagar by giving them real-time information about the canals in the Gang Canal Irrigation System. The project is designed to connect every farmer across 1222 villages and 7 blocks, covering an irrigated land area of 3.14 lakh hectares. The project improves efficiency and accessibility in agricultural practices.

The OTP and Feedback Based Public Grievance Redressal System was created by Shri Chetan K Nandani, the Director & CEO of Dy. The mayor of Rajkot city in Gujarat has made it easier for people to talk to the government about their problems. With features like a 24*7 call centre and a mobile app, as well as toll-free complaint booking and quick resolution mechanisms, the system ensures efficient grievance management and citizen satisfaction.

The fifth national e-Governance webinar was chaired by Secretary DARPG, Shri V. Srinivas, and focused on the theme “Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering for Digital Transformation at State/UT Level.” The session focused on pioneering initiatives.

The MINE MITRA initiative, which was inaugurated by Shri Amit Kaushik, Joint Director of the Directorate of Geology & Mining, Government of Uttar Pradesh, provides citizen-centric electronic services that cater to diverse stakeholders involved in mining operations. MINE MITRA streamlines processes, enhances user convenience, and combats illegal mining effectively with features facilitating digital scrutiny and processing of licenses, permits, and leases, coupled with real-time monitoring using AI/IoT technology.

An Entitlement Management System, introduced by Smt, was introduced in Kutumba. Annapurna K, the Additional Secretary of the 5th State Finance Commission, Government of Karnataka, is responsible for providing a centralized database system that features distinctive Family IDs. This initiative aims to ensure inclusive and proactive welfare service delivery by identifying and excluding ineligible beneficiaries, preventing revenue leakage and ensuring efficient resource allocation.

 These initiatives exemplify innovation and efficiency in leveraging technology for improved governance practices. The fourth and fifth webinars witnessed the participation of 418 and 315 officials from across the nation, including Principal Secretaries, AR Secretaries, IT Secretaries, public administrators, and institutes from diverse sectors, demonstrating a collective commitment towards digital transformation.
