DARPG Facilitates Inter-State Collaboration to Enhance E-Governance

New Delhi, 21st Feb. The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has embarked on the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment (NeSDA) Way Forward initiative, aimed at bolstering e-service provision and fostering the utilization of unified service delivery portals.

Through its monthly NeSDA way forward publication, DARPG actively advocates for States/Union Territories (UTs) to bolster their e-service delivery capabilities and encourage the adoption of e-services through unified portals, fostering faceless and suo-moto entitlement-based service delivery to bridge the gap between citizens and the Government through technology.

Jammu & Kashmir’s noteworthy strides in e-governance, exemplified by the provision of 1120 e-services and achieving 100 percent service delivery through their unified e-UNNAT platform, have served as a model for the replication and dissemination of e-services in Manipur.

Responding to a request from the Government of Manipur, DARPG facilitated two days of meetings on February 19-20, 2024, between Senior Officials of the Government of Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir, aimed at fortifying Manipur’s unified service delivery portal. Senior Officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeITY) and DARPG also participated in the deliberations.

Following extensive discussions, a roadmap for enhancing and expanding e-services in the Government of Manipur was formulated. The Government of Manipur aims to augment its e-governance infrastructure to enhance public service delivery efficiency, with plans to substantially increase its online service portfolio from 35 to 150 services in the first phase.

These services will cover key departments including Revenue, Home, Industry & Commerce, Social Welfare, Public Works Department (PWD), and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). By broadening the range of online services, Manipur seeks to improve accessibility and efficiency, thereby enhancing the overall experience for citizens engaging with government agencies.

The collaborative endeavors between Manipur and Jammu & Kashmir have culminated in the development of a comprehensive roadmap. This roadmap prioritizes efficiency, accessibility, and user-friendliness in the evolution of Manipur’s e-governance infrastructure, promising a more streamlined and citizen-centric approach to public service delivery.
