The number of Covid-19 cases in the country has begun to rise again, with infections reported in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi, which had around 200 cases last week, now has over 500 daily infections, with a positivity rate of 5.33 percent. The national capital, which had 202 cases last Tuesday, reported 517 Covid Cases on Sunday.

Though the number of Covid infections in Haryana is lower, the daily count has increased fourfold since Sunday. On Saturday, the state passed the 200-infection mark, with Gurugram accounting for the majority of the infections.
On the other hand, 135 people in Uttar Pradesh tested positive for the virus on Sunday. The number of active cases has now surpassed 600, with Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar on high alert.

After 11 weeks of declining Covid infections, India’s caseload increased by 35% this week compared to the previous seven days’ count. Infections have increased in several states, including Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Despite the fact that overall case numbers remained low, the surge was limited to three states.
According to a Times of India report, the country recorded over 6,610 new cases in the week ending Sunday, up from 4,900 in the previous seven days.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 deaths in the country continue to fall, with only 27 new cases reported this week. Last week, 54 people died, 13 of whom were from Kerala.
In India, there were 2,183 new coronavirus infections, while the number of active cases fell to 11,542. On Monday, the country saw a massive increase, with daily cases nearly doubling and an increase of more than 90%. On Sunday, the country had 1,150 infections.

The death toll has risen to 5,21,965, with 214 new victims, including 213 from Kerala. Active cases account for 0.03 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remains at 98.76 percent. In the last 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 16 cases. The daily positivity rate was 0.83 percent, with a weekly positivity rate of 0.32 percent.

According to a survey, the number of people in Delhi-NCR reporting someone getting Covid on their close social network has increased by 500% in the last 15 days. A survey of 19% of Delhi-NCR residents revealed that they have one or more people in their close network who have had COVID in the last 15 days. According to LocalCircles, the firm that conducted the survey, the ‘Covid network prevalence’ has increased by more than 500% in the last 15 days.
Though there are no definite reasons for the rise in Delhi and Haryana, it is being attributed to the removal of mandatory masking and the elimination of all Covid-restrictions.

Furthermore, schools and offices have reopened physically, and people are traveling as they did before the Covid. The businesses have also resumed full operations.
