Covid-19 testing mandatory before leaving for the people heading towards high Himalayan regions says, SDM Dharchula

Pithoragarh, May 10. The tribal villagers, trekker’s and other people heading towards high Himalayan valleys of Darma, Vyas, and Chaudas in Dharchula sub-division, will now have to undergo Covid-19 testing on a mandatory basis before entering these valleys. Only those found negative in Covid- 19 testings, will be allowed to enter these valleys from Dharchula said, AK Shukla SDM Dharchula.

“We have taken this step to prevent Covid-19 spread in high Himalayan valleys and are establishing a testing camp for Covid-19 at Dobat near Charchit, and only those find negative at least a week ago will have permission to cross over to these high regions. “said the SDM Dharchula.

According to the SDM, besides the tribal villagers of all these valleys, big number of security personals, and trekkers cross over to these valleys during this season. “The local administration interacted with the stakeholders in a meeting held here and the local villagers in this connection today, all gave their consent to the proposal. “said the SDM.
