New Delhi, 5th May. Japan has extended lockdown due to increasing cases of corona infection, following which it is feared that the Olympics which is scheduled to begin on July 23, 2021, might be Cancelled. A day before that, on Tuesday, IPL-2021 was Cancelled after several players got corona infected.
Japan’s government has decided to pursue the lockdown as Corona wreaks havoc in the country. A lockdown has been imposed from April 23 to May 11 in several major cities in Japan, including Okyo, Osaka, Kyota and Hyogo.
But officials are considering extending this lockdown to break the Corona chain. This could lead to the cancellation of the Olympic Games. The events at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 were postponed to July 23, 2021, after the ever increasing threat of the corona virus pandemic were reported.
