New Delhi, 14th Jan.The Congress party has rebranded its previous NYAY programme as a political pledge in the wake of this year’s Lok Sabha election. The grand old party announced Nyuntam Aay Yojna (NYAY) in its 2019 manifesto with the goal of offering minimal income support.

The term was adopted by the party as their poll slogan, which it vigorously promoted to win over voters. However, the Congress was unable to defeat Modi’s power with this plan.

Now that the Lok Sabha elections are expected to take place in the coming months, the Congress has begun promoting an updated version of its NYAY programme. At a rally in Nagpur on December 28 to open the Congress’ election campaign, Mallikarjun Kharge declared that the party will implement the NYAY scheme, which would give every household at least Rs 60,000–70,000, if elected to power.

The Congress listed the following NYAY features in its 2019 manifesto:

  1. The program’s goal was to give financial assistance to more than five crore people, or the 20% of families with the lowest incomes.

  1. A yearly financial transfer of Rs 72,000 was promised to every family.

  1. The money was supposed to be deposited into the family’s account belonging to a woman.

  1. Phased implementation was intended for the scheme.

  1. – Congress said that it would form an impartial group of distinguished statisticians, social scientists, and economists to supervise the creation, testing, distribution, and execution of the programme. Only with the panel’s “go-ahead” could the programme be advanced from one step to the next. NYAY will be implemented by Congress as a cooperative programme including the federal and state governments.

  1. On the other hand, the old party did not fully disclose the plan. The program’s exact structure has not yet been decided upon.

The conflict in Congress in 2024:
