New Delhi, 3rd Oct: The Congress has landed in a fresh political controversy after party leader Udit Raj compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ravan, the ten-headed demon king burnt in effigy during Dussehra.

Speaking to IANS, Raj said, “PM Modi is a symbol of modern Ravana, and the way he is building his golden palace, once he enters it, he will see the same golden palace burn.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly condemned the comment, accusing the Congress of repeatedly insulting the dignity of constitutional posts. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the opposition had made a pattern of abusive remarks against the Prime Minister.

“Being anti-Modi and anti-India has become their standard operating procedure,” Poonawalla remarked, recalling past instances where Congress leaders allegedly targeted Modi’s family and OBC community.

He further said, “This is not ‘mohabbat ki dukaan’ but ‘nafraat ki bhaijaan’. From attacking the Election Commission to abusing Sanatan culture, this is Congress’s reality.”
