New Delhi, 6th Oct. The Uttar Pradesh Government has allowed a Congress delegation led by Rahul Gandhi to visit Lakhimpur Kheri. After the Lakhimpur violence incident, Section 144 has been in force here since October 3. The Uttar Pradesh government said that the state government has given permission to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and three others to visit Lakhimpur Kheri.
Earlier, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal had sought permission from the State Government to allow a Congress delegation to visit the place, but the Yogi government refused. After which Rahul Gandhi held a press conference and attacked the Uttar Pradesh and Central government fiercely.
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal again wrote a letter to the Uttar Pradesh government. In this letter, it was asked to allow Rahul Gandhi to go to Lakhimpur. It was written in the letter that a Congress delegation along with Rahul Gandhi wants to go to Lakhimpur and meet the families of the victims. It said that Rahul Gandhi wants to go to Lakhimpur Kheri so that he can express condolences by meeting the families of the farmers killed in the violence. All India Congress Committee’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal had sent a letter to Yogi Adityanath saying that a five-member delegation of the party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi would visit Lakhimpur Kheri on October 6.
