Congress Leader Arrested for Threatening Employees with Revolver at Kanpur Construction Company

A Congress leader, Ambuj Shukla, has been arrested following an incident where he and his associates allegedly barged into the office of a construction company near Kanpur, brandishing a revolver and threatening its employees. The disturbing act, captured on CCTV footage, has sparked outrage and concern.

The footage reveals Shukla, who unsuccessfully contested the Assembly election from the Kanpur Govindnagar seat on the party’s ticket in 2017, entering the office premises accompanied by at least three aides. In a menacing display, Shukla is seen wielding a revolver, pointing it at employees, and gesturing in a threatening manner.

Shukla’s actions escalate as he proceeds to the door, only to turn back and once again point the revolver at the frightened employees. The targeted office, situated in Kalyanpur, belongs to Atharva Construction Pvt Ltd.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Kumar Pandey confirmed the incident, stating, “A complaint was filed by an employee of the company. We checked the CCTV footage and saw Ambuj Shukla and his aides threatening the employees using his licensed revolver. Shukla and his aides have been taken into custody, and the revolver has been seized.”
