Congress Chief Kharge Constitutes New Congress Working Committee, See List of Members

New Delhi, 21st Aug. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge formed a new Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Sunday, which would make important decisions for the grand old party.

The new CWC has 39 leaders, including Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi.

This decision was made at the 85th Plenary Session of the Indian National Congress (INC), which was held from February 24 to February 26 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The overhaul comes ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as well as state elections in five states: Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana.

The CWC formed months after Kharge was elected head of the grand old party on October 10, last year. It replaced Steering Committee that was formed as a stop-gap arrangement.
