Lucknow, 12th June: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today strongly condemned child labor, calling it a “curse” that shouldn’t be tolerated. On World Day Against Child Labour, the Chief Minister urged everyone to come together against this practice and make sure every child gets an education, feels safe, and lives with dignity.

Taking to social media platform X, CM Adityanath stressed that only through greater awareness and combined efforts against child labor can we build a caring and strong society for the future.

“Child labor is a curse, it cannot be accepted!” he posted. “Let us, on this World Day Against Child Labour, pledge to connect every child with education, safety, dignity and values.”

Observed every year on June 12, World Day Against Child Labour was started by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2002. The day aims to highlight the severe struggles of child laborers worldwide and encourage action to end all forms of child labor, especially the most dangerous ones like hazardous work, forced labor, and exploitation.
