Patna, 14th Nov: Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has emerged as one of the strongest performers for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, securing leads on 22 of the 28 seats it contested. The party has registered a vote share of 5.73 per cent, marking a substantial presence in the ongoing electoral battle.
According to the latest trends from the Election Commission, the NDA is comfortably ahead, leading in 190 seats as counting continues across Bihar. The opposition INDIA bloc is trailing significantly with leads in only 45 constituencies.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) is on course to become the single largest party, leading in 82 seats. Its key ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party, is close behind with 81 seats. Other NDA partners, including the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), are leading on one and four seats respectively.
The counting of votes began at 8 am today under stringent security arrangements across 46 counting centres in 38 districts. Bihar saw a historic voter turnout of 67.13 per cent in the two-phase election held on November 6 and 11, where 7.45 crore eligible voters decided the fate of 2,616 candidates contesting 243 seats.
As counting advances, the NDA’s strong showing indicates a decisive mandate, with Chirag Paswan’s party emerging as a pivotal force in shaping the alliance’s overall performance.
