WASHINGTON – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will arrive in New Delhi on Monday for a two-day official visit to India, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will hold a bilateral meeting with Mr. Wang Yi on Monday evening, MEA stated.
Mr. Wang Yi is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence on Tuesday, it added.
Wang will hold the 24th round of the Special Representatives’ Talks on the India-China boundary issue with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the MEA said on Sunday.
The visit came days ahead of Prime Minister Modi planned trip to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, scheduled to be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.
MEA said in a statement earlier that “At the invitation of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China and Chinese Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi will visit India on 18–19 August 2025. During his visit, he will hold the 24th round of the Special Representatives’ Talks on the India-China boundary question with India’s SR, NSA Doval,.
NSA Doval had also visited China to attend the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries.
He underlined the need to shun double standards in the fight against terrorism, take decisive action against UN-proscribed terrorists and entities such as LeT and JeM, and dismantle their terror ecosystems.
