PM Modi Inaugurates 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Chhattisgarh' Program, Unveils Major Development Projects Worth Rs 34,400 Crore

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Chhattisgarh’ program via video conferencing today, inaugurating, dedicating to the nation, and laying the foundation stone for multiple development projects totaling over Rs 34,400 crores. These projects include crucial sectors such as Roads, Railways, Coal, Power, and Solar Energy, aimed at bolstering infrastructure and fostering growth in the region.

During his address, PM Modi underscored the pivotal role of empowerment in realizing the vision of a developed Chhattisgarh, emphasizing the need to uplift the youth, women, poor, and farmers. He highlighted the significance of the projects inaugurated and foundation stones laid, asserting that they would create new avenues of opportunity for the people of Chhattisgarh.

PM Modi specifically mentioned the dedication of NTPC’s Lara Super Thermal Power Project Stage-I to the nation, along with the laying of the foundation stone for Stage-II, which will further enhance electricity availability at reduced costs. He reiterated the government’s commitment to making Chhattisgarh a hub for Solar Energy, citing the inauguration of solar power plants in Rajnandgaon and Bhilai as significant steps towards achieving energy self-sufficiency.

Furthermore, PM Modi outlined initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity scheme, aimed at reducing electricity bills for consumers and promoting the adoption of rooftop solar panels. He emphasized the government’s support for farmers in setting up small-scale solar plants on barren farmlands, thereby transforming them into energy producers.

The Prime Minister commended the efforts of the double-engine government in Chhattisgarh, highlighting the fulfillment of promises such as bonus payments to farmers and increased emoluments for Tendu leaves collectors. He also lauded the progress of schemes like PM Awas and Har Ghar Nal se Jal, indicating a renewed momentum in welfare initiatives.
