Shanghai, 6th Feb: India’s rising global economic and strategic profile was the focus of discussions during a meeting between Consul General Pratik Mathur and David Gosset, founder of the China–Europe–America Global Initiative, in Shanghai.

The interaction took place at the historic Cathay Mansions, a landmark building once owned by the Sassoon family from Mumbai, and served as a platform to exchange views on issues of common interest, including India’s emergence as a global growth centre.

According to official information, the talks also covered ongoing and proposed trade arrangements, including the India–EU Free Trade Agreement and agreements with the United States, seen as part of a broader momentum in India’s economic diplomacy.

The two sides further discussed upcoming international engagements, including the AI Impact Summit and the BRICS Summit scheduled later this year, where India is expected to play a prominent role.

The meeting underscored the growing international attention on India’s economic trajectory and its expanding role in global trade, technology, and multilateral forums.
