Center Gives Approval To IIT Indore’s Ujjain Satellite Campus

New Delhi, 27th Jan. The central government has approved IIT Indore’s Ujjain satellite campus, according to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

This satellite campus is a significant project that would help students, educators, and industrial workers. According to the chief minister, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has granted the campus his permission in principle. On Thursday, CM Sharma paid Union Minister Pradhan, for Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, a visit at his home in New Delhi. During their conversation, they covered a wide range of topics pertaining to education and skill development.

According to Chief Minister Yadav, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Indore drafted a proposal for the establishment of a satellite campus in Ujjain, which was submitted to the Education Ministry for approval in 2023. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, in Madhya Pradesh, is running four future skill courses, the Chief Minister also told Union Minister Pradhan during the meeting.

“The Ministry of Entrepreneurship is offering skill development courses under the Sankalp Yojana, including Augmented Reality-Virtual Reality (AR/VR) at Mahila Polytechnic College in Bhopal, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) at Jabalpur Engineering College, and Blockchain at Ujjain Engineering College. In each course, 1000 state kids are receiving training,” CM Yadav stated.

He added that the IIT Delhi is building a Center of Excellence in the fields of artificial intelligence and augmented reality/virtual reality at the state-established Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park in Bhopal. Additionally, he disclosed that the decision was made to choose IIT Delhi as the technical advisor for the course, which will be held at Sant Shiromani Ravidas Global Skill Park, rather than ITE, Singapore.
