New Delhi, 2nd Nov: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar was felicitated with the Distinguished Alumni Award (DAA) by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur during a ceremony held at the campus on Sunday.

Instituted in 1989, the DAA is the highest honour bestowed by IIT Kanpur upon its alumni for their exceptional achievements, professional excellence, and service to the nation and society. The award was presented as part of the institute’s 66th Foundation Day celebrations.

Gyanesh Kumar, who completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1985, joins a prestigious list of past awardees who have excelled in academia, entrepreneurship, and public service.

The institute annually collaborates with its alumni network to recognise individuals whose accomplishments reflect IIT Kanpur’s ethos of innovation, integrity, and national commitment.
