Bengaluru, 4th Jan. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a notice to Jai Hind Communications Private Limited, a media house based in Kerala, asking for information about the investment made by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar.
The notice, issued under CrPC Section 91, requires the Managing Director of Jaihind TV channel, BS Shiju, to appear before the CBI on January 11 with all the necessary details.
The CBI is specifically seeking information about the investment made by Shivakumar and his wife, as well as any profits paid to them and money transactions in their names.
The central agency also wants details of investments by the son of Shivakumar and other family members.
The CBI had previously filed a case against Shivakumar in 2020, accusing him of accumulating wealth disproportionate to his known source of income.
Shivakumar was imprisoned in the case and went on to become the State President of the Congress after release. He claimed that he was given the choice of either joining the BJP or going to jail, and he chose the latter.
