New Delhi, 15th Oct. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two Delhi Police officers, Inspector Sandeep Ahlawat and Sub-Inspector Bhupesh Kumar, on Tuesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh to avoid implicating a complainant in a case.

Officials stated that the officers initially demanded ₹1.5 crore to “not implicate” the complainant in what they claimed was a fake case. According to the complainant, Ahlawat had agreed to accept ₹1 crore through Sub-Inspector Kumar. The duo later settled for a part payment of ₹10 lakh.

The CBI set a trap and caught Sub-Inspector Kumar red-handed while he was accepting the ₹10 lakh bribe on behalf of Inspector Ahlawat. Following this, Inspector Ahlawat, who was stationed at the Burari police station, was also apprehended.
