Kanpur, 9th Feb: A video from an HDFC Bank branch in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur has gone viral, showing a female employee involved in a heated confrontation with a customer inside the premises.

The incident reportedly took place at the bank’s Panki branch. The employee, identified in multiple reports as Aastha Singh, is seen in the 43-second clip rising from her seat, shouting, and pointing a laptop toward a male customer in an aggressive manner.

During the exchange, the employee is alleged to have used abusive language and made a caste-referenced remark, saying, “Thakur hoon main,” which many viewers have interpreted as an attempt to intimidate the customer using caste identity.

The argument escalated inside the branch, drawing attention from others present and turning what appeared to be a routine banking interaction into a public altercation.

The video has circulated widely across social media platforms, with users tagging HDFC Bank and demanding strict action against the employee. Many have criticised the behaviour as unprofessional and inappropriate for a customer-facing role in a major private bank.

HDFC Bank has not issued an official public statement on the incident so far. According to available information, no police complaint has been registered in connection with the matter.
