Lucknow, 10th Dec.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has suspended Kunwar Danish Ali, its Lok Sabha member from the Amroha parliamentary segment, for engaging in anti-party activities. The suspension was announced on December 9th.

“You have been told verbally many times that you should not make any comment contrary to the party’s policies and ideologies, but despite repeated warnings you have been continuously doing so,” reads the letter issued by the BSP’s national general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra.

The letter added, “In the interest of the party, you are being suspended from the membership of the BSP with immediate effect.”
The BSP did not provide further details about the alleged anti-party activity that led to Ali’s suspension.

This suspension comes as Ali continues to seek action against Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP MP from South Delhi, who made derogatory remarks against him in Parliament on September 21.

Bidhuri apologized for his comments on December 7.

Ali, who was previously with the Janata Dal (Secular), joined the BSP before the 2019 parliamentary elections and won from Amroha in Western U.P. with a significant margin. However, he has recently taken a different stance from the BSP by advocating for opposition unity, stating that it is more important now than ever before.

In contrast, BSP chief Mayawati has consistently stated that her party will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections independently and will not form alliances.
