New Delhi, 2nd Jan: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has launched Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) services nationwide across all telecom circles, enabling customers to make and receive calls over Wi-Fi networks even in areas with weak mobile signal.

The service, also known as Wi-Fi Calling, allows users to enjoy clear voice calls and messaging using their existing mobile numbers without the need for any third-party applications. VoWiFi supports seamless handover between Wi-Fi and mobile networks, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity.

This facility is especially beneficial for customers in rural and remote areas, homes, offices, basements and other locations where mobile coverage is limited but Wi-Fi connectivity is available, including BSNL Bharat Fiber or other broadband services.

BSNL has stated that VoWiFi will also help reduce network congestion and is being offered free of cost, with no additional charges for Wi-Fi calls.

The nationwide rollout marks a key milestone in BSNL’s network modernization programme and reflects its commitment to strengthening digital connectivity, particularly in underserved regions.

VoWiFi is supported on most modern smartphones. Customers can activate the service by enabling Wi-Fi Calling in their handset settings. For device compatibility and assistance, customers can visit BSNL customer service centres or contact the helpline at 1800-1503.
