BRS Leader K Kavitha Hospitalized at DDU Hospital, Delhi

New Delhi, 17th July. BRS leader K Kavitha, currently in judicial custody at Tihar Jail, was admitted to Delhi’s DDU Hospital on Tuesday evening under undisclosed circumstances. The reason for her hospitalization remains unclear.

K Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has been detained since March 15 in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. This case has also seen developments with the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate in a related money laundering investigation.

Accusations against K Kavitha involve her alleged involvement in a group accused of paying Rs 100 crore to the AAP for favorable liquor policies. She is facing judicial custody in both ED and CBI cases. Recently, the CBI filed a supplementary charge sheet, claiming sufficient evidence for prosecution based on WhatsApp chats and the alleged payment.

Earlier this month, K Kavitha applied for “default” bail, arguing the incomplete nature of the chargesheet filed by the CBI to delay her release.

The court is scheduled to hear the matter further on July 22.
