Vrindavan, 26th August. Braj Foundation Chairman Vineet Narain in a letter to Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav requested to reconsider the appointment of Shailjakant Mishra as Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad’s Vice-Chairman.
The letter read, “Enclosed backgrounder of mine may interest you. I am passionately involved in restoring the cultural and environmental heritage of Braj (Mathura & Vrindavan) since 2002. Our work has been appreciated by one and all.”
It further stated, “Unfortunately, an incompetent retired IPS officer Mr. Shailjakant Mishra had been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad. If you search ‘Braj Today’ on YouTube, you will find 28 brief reports on how Mr. Mishra and his team have indulged in massive corruption and have destroyed the heritage of Lord Krishna’s pious land.”
Despite this baggage Mr. Mishra keeps coming up with new utopian ideas, which are exorbitantly expensive and useless, the letter said.
The letter added, “In recent past he convinced our MP, Mrs. Hema Malini and together they both proposed a Metro Project between Mathura and Vrindavan. They proudly announced this project to impress local people.”
“Thankfully, your ministry, after assessing its non-viability, has rejected the same. However, in today’s local papers I read that instead of Metro a Broad Gauge train will be started between these two destinations. This again is a highly impractical, useless and extravagant idea,” it added.
He further stated in the letter, “What we need is a ‘toy train’ type coach (as you have in Rail Museum, Chanakya Puri New Delhi) and two Diesel Engines on both ends on a ‘Push Pull Model’ with 20 coaches in between attached to them. This train should commute every hour from 5 am to 10 pm. This will be the least expensive and pilgrim friendly project for this 12 Km stretch.”
It said, “Our Braj Foundation will be more than willing to provide you with the technical consultancy and aesthetic design of this train.”
“I hope you will consider our proposal on merit & take a decision after objectively weighing all aspects, ” the letter concluded.
