Raebareli, 23rd July: Dr. Rakesh Mishra, National President of the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF), today announced significant initiatives aimed at elevating boxing opportunities at the national level. Addressing journalists at the conclusion of the First Ram Krishna Smarak Elite National Championship in Raebareli, Dr. Mishra outlined the federation’s future plans.
Dr. Mishra informed the press that the championship, which concluded today, saw participation from boxers across 11 states, competing in both men’s and women’s categories. The IABF has been actively working to identify and hone talent from the grassroots level across the country.

Looking ahead, Dr. Mishra revealed that the federation plans to organize a two-day ‘Night Fight Fiesta’ in August. Such events are designed to transition amateur boxers into the professional arena. Furthermore, the IABF is set to launch the Indian Boxing League in the near future. The primary objective of this league will be to provide a superior platform for Indian boxers and to ensure their economic empowerment.
The First Ram Krishna Smarak Elite National Championship culminated today with exciting final bouts featuring eight boxers.

On this occasion, Secretary General Rakesh Thakur was present, alongside Central Zone President Sushil Katiyar, Uttar Pradesh General Secretary Upendra Pandey, Pro Boxing General Secretary Tabish Bhai, Manmohan Dabral, Padam Singh, and a large number of boxing enthusiasts who had gathered from various locations including Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Amethi.
