New Delhi, 1st April: A bomb threat sent via email to the office of Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh triggered a security alert in the national capital on Wednesday, prompting immediate action by police and security agencies.
According to officials, the email, allegedly sent in the name of a group calling itself the “Khalistan National Army”, warned that the mayor’s office would be targeted in a blast around 2:11 pm.
Following the threat, security around the mayor’s office was significantly tightened, and thorough checks were initiated to ensure safety.
Police said cyber teams are currently analysing the email’s origin and digital trail to identify the sender. Efforts are underway to determine the authenticity of the threat and whether it is part of a larger pattern of hoax or coordinated attempts.
A senior police officer confirmed that all necessary precautions have been taken, and further investigation is in progress.
Authorities have urged calm while continuing heightened vigilance in the area.
