Blinken meets Greek PM , voiced concern over Gaza crisis

According to the State Department on Sunday US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has held meeting with the Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Hania, Crete, and expressed growing concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip.

According to Greek national news agency AMNA cited that Mr. Mitsotakis expressed concern about the risks of escalating tensions in the Middle East and the repercussions for regional stability and security.

“These are difficult and challenging times for the region,” Mitsotakis said, reiterated the need for an unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza

He underlined that the solution can only be political, based on the two-state solution in accordance with UN resolutions, media reported.

Blinken told reporters that he wants to make sure the conflict in the Middle East “doesn’t spread” after his meeting with the Greek premier.

Both exchanged views on bilateral ties and other international issues, it added.
