Blast at Limestone Mine in Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh, 9 dead

Kadapa , 8th May. Nine people died in a blast in a lime mine in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. Andhra police gave this information. But according to the police, only five bodies have been identified.

Police officials said that some of the dead were from Pulivendula constituency. Pulivendula is the constituency of Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Nine people died in a blast in a lime mine in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. Andhra police gave this information. But according to the police, only five bodies have been identified.

Kadapa District Superintendent of Police K Amburajan said that the accident occurred when a consignment of gelatin rods was being unloaded in a limestone mine outside Mamillapalli village. The explosion was so huge that the vehicle carrying the consignment was completely damaged.

He said that the cause of the accident has not yet been ascertained. According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has spoken to the officials of Kadapa district and inquired about the incident. He has expressed his condolences to the family of those who lost their lives in the accident.
