BJP’s Anil Vij Expresses Discontent After Exclusion from Cabinet

Ambala, 2nd May.
Former Haryana Home Minister and BJP leader Anil Vij voiced his dissatisfaction on Wednesday, stating that certain individuals have made him feel like a “stranger” within his own party.

Speaking at a public rally in Ambala, Vij hinted at internal rifts within the party without explicitly naming anyone.

Acknowledging his exclusion from the cabinet during the recent reshuffle, Vij emphasized that despite feeling sidelined, outsiders sometimes contribute more effectively than insiders. His remarks come amid speculation and disquiet within the state party unit following his removal from the cabinet.

Anil Vij’s absence at the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet and his early departure from the Legislature Party meeting underscored his disappointment. The state BJP leadership, led by Nayab Singh Saini, replaced Manohar Lal Khattar as Chief Minister, with several new faces introduced in the cabinet.

Despite previous speculation suggesting Vij’s potential appointment as one of the deputy chief ministers, he failed to secure a position in the new cabinet lineup. This exclusion was particularly surprising given his previous roles as the Haryana home minister and his standing within the party.

Anil Vij’s journey within the BJP has been marked by instances where he was considered a frontrunner for top positions, only to be passed over for others. In both the 2014 and 2019 elections, despite his significant contributions, he was overlooked for key positions, including the chief ministerial role.
